Terms and Conditions

Last updated: June 2026

These Terms and Conditions govern your access to and use of Reverb-Calculator.com and all tools, articles, and content provided on this website. Reverb-Calculator.com is operated by Noah Bennett (contact available via the Contact page).

By accessing or using Reverb-Calculator.com, you agree to these Terms and Conditions in full. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the website.

1. Purpose of the Website

Reverb-Calculator.com is an independent educational website providing free browser-based RT60 reverberation time calculation tools and educational content about room acoustics, acoustic formulas, absorption coefficients, and room design targets.

The website is intended for educational use, general acoustic planning reference, and exploration of room acoustic principles. It is not designed to replace professional acoustic engineering services, certified acoustic measurement, or formal acoustic specifications.

More information about the site’s purpose is on the About page.

2. Use of the Calculation Tools

The RT60 calculation tools — using the Sabine and Eyring formulas — compute reverberation time from room dimensions and absorption coefficient values you enter. These tools require no microphone access, capture no audio, and do not interact with any device sensor or input beyond receiving the numeric values you type.

By using these tools, you acknowledge that:

  • Outputs are mathematically exact calculations derived from the Sabine or Eyring formula as applied to your input values
  • The Sabine and Eyring formulas are models based on simplifying assumptions — diffuse sound field, uniform absorption distribution, and standard room geometry — and real rooms may deviate from these assumptions
  • The Sabine formula may overestimate RT60 for rooms with high average absorption (mean coefficient above approximately 0.30); the Eyring formula is more appropriate for such rooms
  • Calculated RT60 estimates are not equivalent to measured RT60 values obtained through professional acoustic measurement per ISO 3382
  • Results are provided for general educational and planning reference only and are not appropriate for formal acoustic certification, legal specifications, or construction contracts requiring certified acoustic performance

3. No Professional Advice

Reverb-Calculator.com does not provide:

  • Professional acoustic engineering or consulting services
  • Certified acoustic measurements or compliance verification
  • Architectural or construction specifications
  • Material procurement, installation, or treatment design services

All educational content on this site is provided for general informational purposes. For professional acoustic design, certification, or compliance purposes, consult a qualified acoustic engineer or consultant.

4. Acceptable Use

By using Reverb-Calculator.com, you agree not to:

  • Use the website for unlawful purposes
  • Attempt to disrupt, interfere with, or compromise website functionality or security
  • Use automated tools or scripts to access or interact with the site at scale
